With a global pandemic adding to the already extremely difficult task of actually making a financially viable career in music Underscore Part 3 is lifting the lid, de-bunking the myths and being realistic whilst empowering the next generation of industry hopefuls and musicians. The internet is full of resources to teach any topic imaginable, but often this can be an intimidating task with so much jargon it doesn’t feel accessible to all.

From the 6th of July-17th of July spark up your Instagram app and tune in live at 8pm each week night as industry nerd and founder of Underscore Part 3 James Wadsworth asks the questions you want to know with those who started their lives dreaming of making music their life, and have succeeded! Your AAA Pass gives you free access to this series of chats in your home with your cup of tea, a whole world away from daunting lecture halls or industry events.

Every event is completely free and will be hosted live at 8pm on Underscore Part 3’s Instagram- follow their page for the full schedule.

We care about mental health as much as we care about live music, and we wanted to give back to both. Throughout July, we’re raising funds for CALM – Campaign Against Living Miserably and Save Our Venues Trust. Both areas have shone an important light on struggles we’ve seen more than ever in 2020, and we’d love to combine our passion to promote and support both causes.

Guests include international musician Frank Turner, AF Gang Founder and music photojournalist Lindsay Melbourne, Campaign coordinator for #SaveOurVenues & manager at The Green Door Store music venue Toni-Coe Brooker, Rough Trade sound engineer Nick Meadows and others. Each night, the guest will use their knowledge to spotlight some insider facts and tips on their area of expertise.

Host James Wadsworth said of the events “As an editor and a freelance PR I often see bands unable to achieve their potential because they don’t understand the industry and this is what we hope to help them grasp.”

The events form part of a 3 week celebration coordinated and run by Underscore Part 3 and WFM Blog. The final week of events will be announced soon. Follow both publications socials for full details.
