Music Tracks of the Week

Friday 5 – May 15th 2020

The Crooks – In Time

One of my favourite tracks released in 2020 so far, The Crooks are back with “In Time” the hotly anticipated follow-up to “She Walks Alone”. This is a beautifully crafted song, with a belting vocal and an Oasis-esque melody running throughout. The Chesterfield five-piece are a true class act, and if this is to be the sound of the next decade, I’ll be a very happy listener.

HAiG – Never Enough

Billy Bibby and his latest band HAiG have released their new single “Never Enough” this week. It’s upbeat, a real foot tapper and a song to play loud at a barbecue this weekend to get people going! It has a kind of celtic-rock feel at times which I love, and I really struggle to turn this one off repeat.

BackspaceFaces in the Dark

Guiseley youngsters have today released their most composed, professional track to date. The female-fronted five piece, who define themselves as alt-pop, with Faces in the Dark have given us a really atmospheric, pop-rock song that has some touches of brilliance. Love it.

Peter BibbyOceans

Every week, we choose someone from outside of the UK to feature in our Friday 5, this week, it’s Peter Bibby with his new single “Oceans”. It’s his first new music since his acclaimed 2018 LP Grand Champion, and this time he’s buoyed by the disorderly Dog Act band. It’s loud, fun and above all, a top top track.

James Humphrys – Colour

Bristol based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist JAMES HUMPHRYS today unveils his new single ‘Colour’ on 15th May, the first track to be shared from his forthcoming second EP ‘Memory Palace’, set for release on 10th July. This is a bit different for us at H2N but a soon as I heard it, it had to be included!

If you are releasing a track from 16th-22nd May get in touch at to be considered for next week’s Friday 5!
