2018 has been a year that indie-rock and rock n’ roll have come right back to the mainstream. Bands like Nothing But Thieves, Bring Me The Horizon and across the pond Shinedown and Black Stone Cherry have had major releases that have given hope to the grassroots that rock music is well and truly alive. In a year of highlights including St Jude’s and Take Off Your Colours’ 10th Birthdays, 30 Seconds to Mars’ return and of course Mumford and Sons’ critically acclaimed “Delta”, it is the grassroots that has shone for us. This years Top 40 is an eclectic mix of rock tracks made up of artists who are unsigned or who have limited current following. This list includes the artists of tomorrow, today.
